Cadáver Exquisito is a collaborative creation game where several people build one work together. Depending on the game mode, they can write a story or create a drawing, but each participant only sees a part of what the previous player did. The result is always a surprise.
Create or join a room
You can create a new room or join an existing one through an invitation link.
Create your part
When your turn comes, make your contribution following the reference left by the previous player. Depending on the game mode, you'll write a fragment of a story or draw a part of an illustration. When your turn ends, the creation moves on to the next participant.
Discover the result
When everyone has finished their turns, the creation is revealed in full. It's the moment to discover how each contribution built a unique collective work.
Story
Players write a story together. Each participant continues the tale seeing only the last words written by the previous player. The full story is discovered when the game ends.
Drawing
Players create an illustration together. Each participant draws a part of the canvas seeing only a small reference of the previous drawing. The full illustration is revealed at the end of the game.
Single story or drawing
Players build a single story or drawing together. Each participant takes their turn while the others wait. Ideal for small groups or for those who prefer the full experience around one single creation.
Parallel stories or drawings
Each player starts creating their own story or drawing. Everyone takes their turn at the same time and, when the round ends, the creations rotate automatically so each participant continues a different one. Less waiting, more action.
Public room
It appears in the lobby so other people can join. Ideal if you want to meet new people or play without coordinating beforehand.
Private room
Only accessible through an invitation link. Ideal for playing with friends or in closed groups.
With an account, your co-authors can find you through your profile and create with you again whenever they want. Create one free.
Real-time
Everyone plays at the same time, like in a gathering or video call. The game moves along continuously and usually lasts between a few minutes and an hour.
Async mode
Not everyone needs to be online at the same time. Each participant plays when they can and the game may stretch over several days. Ideal for playing without coordinating schedules.
Async mode is best enjoyed with an account: your creations are saved and you can continue your game from another device. Create your free account.
Aurora is an extra participant you can invite to your Story Mode games.
She reads the story, writes her part when her turn comes and proposes small surrealist detours that can change its course or go almost unnoticed. A different voice to add when players are missing or to give the story an unexpected twist.
Theo is an extra participant you can invite to your Drawing Mode games.
He looks at the last stroke he receives and continues it in his own way. He draws with simple strokes, he's spontaneous and sometimes comes up with things nobody expected. A companion to complete a game when players are missing and let the drawing find its own path.
Aurora and Theo are available for registered accounts. Create your free account to invite them.
These options are configured in the room's settings, before the game starts.
Random turn order
It lets the participation order vary during the game according to the chosen configuration.
Max turn time
You can set a time limit for each turn or choose to play without a clock if you prefer a more relaxed experience.
And above all, remember this is a shared creative space. Take care of it.
